Everyone is on a yoga journey, a path to union of body, mind, and soul. It’s called life. Some choose the mat as a place of movement and deep reflection for part of this journey. Katelyn first found her way to the mat in 2009 after a big transition and has since then been using her mat to move through whatever it is that needs transforming. On her mat, Katelyn has found presence, and empowerment, and has learned how to regulate her emotional state through movements linked with breath.
This journey has taken her through a 200-hour yoga teacher training program, completed in 2013, and a 500-hour program completed in 2019. Through these studies and dealing with her own health challenges, Katelyn found the ancient science of Ayurveda to be invaluable in healing. After experiencing firsthand how an Ayurvedic lifestyle can enhance one’s life, Katelyn felt called to study Ayurveda – the world’s oldest health science system and sister science of yoga based on the mind-body connection – so she could reconceptualize this ancient knowledge for a modern audience. Katelyn completed a M.S. in Ayurvedic and Integrative Medicine from Maharishi International University.
Katelyn uses the science of Ayurvedic studies, the power of breath- pranayama, and the movement of yoga asana- postures, to create a well-aligned experience for her students on the mat. She is excited and eager to share all that she has learned and is learning.
