John Johnston has been practicing yoga since 2009 after completing his tour in the United States Marines Corps. He has been studying Iyengar Yoga since 2012 and became a CIYT (Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher) after four rigorous years of study under his mentor and senior Iyengar teacher Randy Just. He sought yoga to help with his mental, emotional, and physical well-being initially but it has become the foundation for his spiritual journey.
John is an ardent practitioner, studying both Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, incorporating these teachings in his classes. He pays attention to detail for each of his students and is able to offer modifications for all asanas(poses). His priority in the classroom is safety but also encourages students to dig deep into their own being, challenging them to discover their own true potential inside. You can expect his classes to be challenging, yet inspiring.
