Sarah started practicing yoga 15 years ago as a way to recover from years of playing collegiate basketball, marathon training, and easing the transition out of Active Duty service in the U.S. Coast Guard. She enjoyed the mental healing that came with asana, and yoga is now the basis for her overall wellness and resilience.
Sarah’s yoga training is in the classic Krishnamacharya lineage. She received her 200 HR RYT certification through Shanti Yoga Training School under the mentorship of Nathalie Croix.
Her main goal through her teaching is to make yoga available to everyone by encouraging students to challenge themselves while inspiring confidence in those intimidated by yoga. She shows students how to modify poses to absorb the benefits of yoga and instill confidence in their practice, no matter who they are or level of ability.
Sarah is a nonprofit development and advocacy professional who has worked for veteran organizations for six years. She has experienced how yoga can help military members and first responders heal from physical and mental injuries. Sarah will continue her yoga education to focus on adaptive yoga for all bodies and abilities and trauma-informed yoga for those recovering from any kind of trauma, including post-traumatic stress and mental health challenges.
Sarah and her husband Matt have three children, and they enjoy any kind of outdoor adventures together.
